Q: What is Amazon Marketplace Web Service (Amazon MWS)?
Amazon Marketplace Web Service (Amazon MWS) is an integrated Web service API that helps Amazon sellers to programmatically exchange data on listings, orders, payments, reports, and more. XML data integration with Amazon enables higher levels of selling automation, which helps sellers grow their business. By using Amazon MWS, sellers can increase selling efficiency, reduce labor requirements, and improve response time to customers.

Q: How much does it cost to use MWS?
There are no fees associated with MWS, but you need to have an Amazon seller account to use it.

Q: Can all Amazon sellers use MWS?
To be eligible to use MWS, sellers must have at least one of the following: a non-individual Selling on Amazon account, an Amazon WebStore account, a Checkout by Amazon account, or an Amazon Product Ads account. Sellers with only individual Selling on Amazon accounts are not eligible to register for or use MWS. If you are an individual seller and would like to use MWS, you can become eligible to register for MWS by upgrading to a Pro Merchant seller account from the Amazon Services Selling on Amazon page.

Q: How do I get help to use MWS?
First, make sure you have read the documentation provided for each API section. If you need additional help, go to the MWS Discussion Forum at https://sellercentral.amazon.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=35&start=0, search to find out if your question has already been resolved on the forum, or create a new forum thread. If you still require assistance, you can submit your question using the Contact-Us form at http://developer.amazonservices.com.

Q: I have previously granted MWS access to my Selling on Amazon account to a third-party solution provider. How do I remove that access?
Using the Contact-Us form at http://developer.amazonservices.com, submit the form with the details of your Amazon seller account and the specific access you want to delete.

Q: I need my Merchant ID, Marketplace ID, Developer Account Number, Access Key ID, and my Secret Key to use MWS. Where do I find these?
When you sign up to use MWS these account identifiers and credentials are displayed on the final page of the registration. You must make a note of them or go through the registration process a second time so they will be displayed again. It is also a good practice to print the final page of the registration and store it in a safe place.

Q: How do I sign up to use MWS for my own Amazon seller account?
Click the Sign up for MWS button on the first page of the MWS portal at http://developer.amazonservices.com. You must be able to log into a Pro Merchant Amazon seller account in order to continue through the registration process. After you accept the Amazon MWS License Agreement, your Amazon seller account identifiers and MWS developer account identifier and credentials will be displayed on the final registration page. Be sure to save these identifiers and credentials as you'll need them to make successful MWS requests.

Q: I am a developer and I want to develop software using MWS for another Amazon seller. What should I do?
Only the owner of the Amazon seller account can authorize a third-party to access their seller account. You as the third-party developer must first sign up to use MWS for your own Amazon seller account and keep a record of the MWS developer account identifier that is displayed on the final registration page. Then, give that number to the Amazon seller who wants to use your services as a developer. When the Amazon seller registers, they will use this MWS developer account identifier to grant MWS access to you. Also, they must send their seller account identifiers to you so you can make MWS requests on their behalf. You can give your Amazon sellers the following instructions to guide them through the MWS registration process:
